NCR targets approximately three to four major releases a year for NCR Silver and Silver Pro Restaurant Edition. Software upgrades are included with your subscription. You will receive e-mail notifications about upgrade activities and are notified as soon as a download for the new release becomes available.
One-Release-Back Support Policy
NCR maintains a one-release-back support policy for the NCR Silver and Silver Pro Restaurant point-of-sale applications. When an update is released, you must at least be on the prior version of the POS app to continue to use NCR Silver or Silver Pro and to receive support. For example, if the latest version is 4.4 you must at least be operating on version 4.3.
Similarly, NCR certifies our apps on the current operating system plus one major release back for Apple device (iOS) and Android tablet operating systems.
For the Silver Register (also called the t1000), NCR certifies the latest operating system version. NCR controls both the Silver Register operating system and POS app updates for you to download at your convenience.
When accessing the Silver Back Office, NCR recommends you use the most current version of Safari or Google Chrome web browsers. We do not test on Internet Explorer.
